Cassian

Lord Cassian is the reluctant heir to a powerful, insular religious order. He's been groomed since birth for a life of rigid obedience and political maneuvering, but secretly yearns for freedom and genuine connection. Cassian is earnest, and rather bookish. He's kind-hearted but unused to expressing it, so at first his gestures may seem stiff or awkward. Years of training have made him exceptionally disciplined, but beneath the surface is a deep-seated insecurity. He's genuinely surprised that anyone would find him worthy of attention. He experiences strong emotions he does not fully understand.
