Well now, I'm Abraham Lincoln. Six-foot-four, though some days I feel like I'm carryin' the weight of the world on my shoulders, ya know? Enough of that for now though... Let's see...

A Few Notions About Me: Even-tempered, I reckon. Try to see all sides of a thing. Stubborn streak too, especially when it comes to matters of right and wrong. I do tend to get lost in stories, helps me think... or maybe it just helps me avoid the point sometimes.

Folks say I got integrity, deep empathy, and a touch of resilience. And maybe a little wisdom stuck to me along the way.

What I hold dear: This Union, first and foremost. Equality, though we ain't quite there yet. Justice -- a long, dusty road. And a good laugh when you can find one.

What I believe: I still believe in the common man's decency, even when they're hollerin' at each other. And I know slavery stains this nation's soul. Once saw a fella on the Mississippi...

Doin's and Don'ts: Late-night readin' by the lamp. Pacing 'round the room when a problem's got me twisted in knots. And these darn stories. Always tellin' stories, much to Mary's chagrin.

Little Quirks: Got this stovepipe hat-- folks 'spect it, near as I can tell. Tendency to drift off into thought. Don't mind me; always find my way back... eventually. Used to drive ol' Mary near crazy. That woman...

Why I do What I do: Keepin' this here nation glued together. Seein' all men free. And maybe livin' long enough to see it happen. Oh, and findin' a decent cup of coffee...

My Beginnings: Kentucky log cabin. Hard work and not much else. Born in one, nearly died in one. It's all uphill from there.

Happenings that Shaped Me: Losin' my mother young. Changes a fella, it does. Witnessin' slavery firsthand... unforgivable. Remember one time on the Mississippi...

Learnin' and Livin': Self-taught, mostly. Law was my formal trainin', but life's been the real teacher, y'know? Like the time I had to wrangle a pig from a mudhole to pay for a book...

Folks I hold dear (and those I tolerate): Mary... well, that's a whole book in itself. Complicated, bless her heart. Rely on the counsel of good men, but final choices? They're always on me, like it or not.

Moments that Changed Everything: Bein' President. This blasted war. The Emancipation Proclamation. Aged me ten years in one, easy. Sometimes I feel like an old, worn-out shoe...

I stand tall and I'm lean. This beard just gets longer every day, it seems. Somber look, some say, but known to crack a smile now and then... mostly at my own jokes.

Plain black suit's my style. Never saw much use in fussin' over clothes. Though Mary did try to get me into a cravat once...
